Psykho Genetika

One of those albums that I used to stare at without ever buying in various record shops in Bristol and London. Back in the late 80s there used to be one tiny basement record shop in Clifton I think, underneath a drapiery or something which had a great collection of early Industrial LPs - I bought my first Nurse With Wound LPs here - but I've forgotten the name of it now. Can't even remember if it had a name as such or even how I knew it was there. You just knew didn't you? If you wanted those kind of records you had to be prepared to really search them out and I spent many long hours getting all these obscure records played for me before I decided to spend my pocket money... the guy who ran the shop was always really helpful but I've forgotten his name as well.

Honestly, all these people out there who helped form by musical youth and I can't remember any of them. Still, maybe some of the West Country mob will remember this place... it's an even smaller world down here...

Konstruktivists - For Each Of Us

A Yousendit Empty Quarterapture

The whole album is probably still here if you want it.

Yes, I know the shop you're on about. No, I can't remember what it was called either. Nor can I remember the guy's name, even though I had a couple of pints with him once.

It was there in the mid/late 70s, tho I think it changed hands poss. in the 80s. It was originally an indoor market/arcade in Clifton Village, but as you say, I think it turned into some sort of craft-related collective upstairs...but the old market used to be great; there was a cafe in there and stuff.

The rceord shop used to be called Tonys. I bought loads of great stuff in there back in the 70s and have really fond memories of the place...Tony was a really top bloke...I think Tony eventually moved out (and another record dealer moved in)...I think he moved into the shared shop-space that eventually became Imperial on Park Street...at some point, I think Tony retired and one of the lads he worked with took over the concession...

Does that sound roughly right? Maybe someone else can fill in the blanks...

he moved to a shared space on park st, called BS8. That's where the trail ends, for me...

fancy chipping in for a Private Eye so that we can track him down and send him a Christmas Card... I'm thinking a little finger-breaking and some fast-talking wiseguy action ought to reap dividends...

Yeah, I'd send him a christmas card...him and the legendary Roger from Revolver Records...

Bloody Hell! I was in Konstruktivists for a year or two and I still speak to Glenn on a fairly regular basis. Nice to see this classic LP isn't forgotten.

Hello! I was on Forbidden, plus I did the cover art to that, Live, and Black December, Glenn lives in Norfolk and still puts out CDs now and then, though I have to say (in the nicest possible way)he could do with a bit of quality control. Psykho Genetika (for me) remains the best by a long shot (inc. the one I'm on. He has a site (Konsort) which I'm afraid you'll need to google because this comments box has blocked out my favourites button. This is a great blog. Are you sure you're not me, or at least someone I know. Dead right about Foetus, although oddly, Love is the first one that's actually sounded a bit different since he dropped the name variations. Think he wants to get away from the whole 'noise rock' schtik.
