Someone sent this to me a while ago, as an MP3, along with a host of other stuff (three Fennesz albums, I remember) apropos of nothing in particular but having decided that it was the missing link based on something I said about there being no congruence between Venetian Snares and Spacemen 3... a lot of that stuff has only just started appearing on my i-pod (do we need this much music? stuff i've had for over a year that's only just putting its head over the ledge)...
Actually, my i-pod has its own secret mission of some sorts since its screen has now kinda combusted and prevents me from playing anything other than shuffle mode (and then won't let me see what's playing)... necessitating a curiously non-technological approach to listening all over again... one that's far more like listening to Radio than a Walkman, one that steadfastly refuses to pay attention to mood or mode, playing whatever the hell it likes and re-configuring all kinds of events along the way...
The good thing is that it's forcing me to listen a lot harder now... no easy way out in terms of genre or name, no way of pre-determing what I might want to listen to or, worse, what might be appropriate...
Makes me think that choice isn't where we ought to be going right now.
This Boredoms stuff is fantastically loopy in an eminently listenable way and, right now, it's my favourite thing they've done.
