Thanks for the comments/ ideas... think Kek might have something (see comments on previous post)...almost certain now that what I heard was just an accidentally slow-read of the Soft Cell version maybe with some extra Casio FZ 1-ing over the top (the fashion in those dark times)... though this is turn makes me quake at the thought that this slurred psychedelic stew of the otherwise bouncy Tainted Love might have indeed been a manifestation of a bended time and thus an eerie future echo of the later Marc Almond crash that almost killed him...
I hear that in the moments just before a car crash time slows until it almost folds in on itself.
