While we're here, all the fuss and vinyl fetishism has caused the second Ekoplekz CDR to be a little pushed under the carpet... it's called, gulp, Volume 2 and way worth picking up if you're after a longer fix or you can't negotiate your way into one of the limited 12"s...
It's a kin to Volume 1, with perhaps added squiggle... it still sounds haunted (actually harassed) by the Radiophonics (and you'd want it to be...) but now Nick is fighting back, pulling things sideways, letting the subsystems of electronica (even, um, triphop in places?) through...

'fighting back'? an interesting turn of phrase. although, now i think about it, its more like the TV series Quantum Leap - i fell through a wormhole back in time and now i'm trying to find my way back along the timeline to the present, taking on various guises and getting into all sorts of adventures/mishaps along the way. or maybe that's bollocks. but what do i know? i'm just the artist. your the one who's s'posed to be explaining it all.

we are all fighting with our influences... real and imagined ones; musical, literary, artistic, social, affective... sometimes we allow them to pull us towards them, other times we try to impose upon them... I, er, think that's what I meant...
