Tennis has never been better than when slowhand Miloslav Mecir was playing. My favourite tennis player ever. Mecir stroked the ball around with the equivalent of a boating paddle and sent hardcore serve volleyers scurrying allover the place... at the time, circa 1989, it was like watching Sonic Boom playing Bastard Kestrel in a 12hr battle of the bands. The ball seemed to move so slowly, great to watch on Sunday afternoon comedowns; all these mentalists wacking it hard all the time are just missing the point.
