24 hrs

Well, it may be blagged and blogged from various sources but I think Chris has done a good job. And here is 23 Drifts To Guestling the TG / PTV obscurity that the venerable/ venereal ( I forget which is which, or which was 'Chimed Rig') Beyond The Implode sent me a few years ago. Check out his interview with Joy Division's dead arch-eppy Ian Curtis and then try and work out if that 'Here are the young men, the weight on their shoulders' line really was about those nasty second-hand overcoats that everyone wore back then...

This is good because I also think that's a good job, actually I'd like you posting frequently, because in that way I'll follow him.

Anyone have a rip of 23 Drifts To Guestling as it seems to have fallen down the memory hole...of course that may have to do with the fact theebradmiller blog is sadly deceased...I figure as I bought the tape first time around I am entitled to any subsequent issues gratis..actually I cannot remember for the life of me what the quality is like..I keep looking at the titles of the tracks but no divine spark of recognition emerges.

"those nasty second-hand overcoats that everyone wore back then"

Ahh the cult with no name..I had several much cherished over-sized second hand overcoats with that authentic mothballs smell that no amount of patchuli could mask...my problem was I was my lack of stature made me look like a a weird post-punk heretical monk as they invariably were to big and dragged along the floor propped up by the obligatory unlaced black Italian army boots with the big strap....

....and let us not forget authentic "pit" donkey jackets infused with the scent of coal..and those weird thin nylon grey jackets that every alternative type seemed to have in the early eighties..I remember you could get them from the army surplus stores for 50p a shot though where they came from originally is anyones guess!

thanks for triggering my ragged tribe of memory neurons...
