Questions without Answers

Does it really require that much planning to have 3 bombs go off at more or less the same time in the same city?

Couldn't just, like, anyone with more than three friends arrange for that to happen, given the motivation?

Does it really require a global, interconnected network of terrorism?

And if not, why does every news broadcast seem to imply that such an attack is somehow more planned than evil?

Finally, I think I sort of know the answer to this one but what exactly does anyone in the West gain from having a complex, powerful network of terrorist enemy?

Why can't we be scared of just a few maniacs with bombs?

It would seem that innocence dies while our leaders are still en-trenched in political apathy orbiting selfish monetary gain.

You are naive. Anyone with a few friends can blow up buses, but it takes guidance, motivation, a political agenda, and, yes, budget, to carry it out. This spells like a terrorist organization.

To make it clear, just think of yourself. Could you arrange some military bombs? No. And if you somehow got hold of it, could you find someone to instruct you on how to use them? No way. (Don't tell me you have reliable guides for this on the Internet.) And if you could do all of this, how much would it cost? And of course, WOULD YOU DO IT? No. You'd have to be a terrorist.

I know it's hard to cope with these terrorists around us, but we know that they'll eventually lose. At least I know; yes, I'm an Israeli.

Reality 101... thank you...i've always styled myself as naive but never really been able to pull it off...

My point was that the amount of organisation needed is negligible (i.e doesn't require a mass terror network) when you have the will...

Yeah, I'm with Loki on this one. The events of the last few days have shown us that this terror comes from WITHIN our society. It'll be externalised and portrayed as some slick, well organised FOREIGN terror network, with much emphasis upon visits abroad for training and so on, but it doesn't help us to emphasise the 'otherness' of terrorists. These guys grew up on our streets in our schools and yet felt willing to do what they did - engaging with this fact might help us to combat such terror...... The idea that behind all of this there's a guy in an underground base with a white cat on his lap as part of a 'terror organization' is the naive one methinks.....

Yes, 'reality 101', loki is on the right wavelength. i, too, COULD build bombs & coordinate such an act, and on occasion have been disgusted enough to want to do such a thing, even 'planned' it out of curiosity. knowing what i do of history, though, of course, i would not do it. man is an ugly beast & always will be. fortunately there are moments that are inspiring in positive ways.
